For all of you living outside of Japan, I know the struggles of trying to find good quanlity live streaming Japanese TV.
Doing some research online, you will quickly find that there are basically only two legitimate websites that stream Japanese live TV. KeyHoleTV or myniji.tv
Both are online television portals that require a software installation on your computer to use their video player which is downloadable from their website.
The video and audio quality is not the best, but at least you’re able to watch some Japanese channels for free with little effort.
Pros and Cons of installing computer software to watch Japanese TV:
Pros: Free, quick install
Cons: You need to agree to install a third party “advertiser” software, which sometimes can slow your computer and can be difficult to delete. Bad resolution (won’t recommend full screen viewing). Video streaming can be choppy, and sometimes the channels can be unavailable.
Japanchord.com has a better, more reliable solution for you and your family!
Not may people don’t know yet, but there is an amazing product out there called the TVPad (latest version is TVPad3) which receives streaming video via your home internet connection, and outputs HD video right on your TV screen (HDMI or RCA).
Click here for more info on TVpad.
The TVpad comes with a remote control and acts just like the receiver box your local cable provider supplied you.
However, the TVPad enables you to watch HD live streaming channels from all over the world.
If trying to watch low quality streaming video/audio on your computer drives you crazy, this is the product for you.
You can enjoy watching Japanese TV right on your TV screen with your whole family.
Here are the lists of live Japanese channels streaming 24/7 on TVPad3:
- NHK
- Nihon TV
- NHK Educational channel
- TBS
- Fuji TV
- TV Asahi
- TV Tokyo
- TV Osaka
- Kansai TV
- Yomiuri TV
- J sports 1
There is a one-time fee in purchasing the TVpad, but once you buy the TVpad all the channels are free, and unlimited.
Pros: Live streaming HD video, high quality audio, lifetime of free international channels
Cons: You will need to purchase the TVpad3 receiver box
My recommensation is TVpad3!
If international TV is the only thing you watch at home, I would just cancel your local cable and watch only the free TVpad channels.
Your monthly bill for your cable will be reduced to $0, and all you need to pay for is for your internet connection.
If any of the readers here are currently paying for TVJapan every month (approximately $20 a month), you will definately cancel it once you start using Tvpad3.
You will pay off the Tvpad3 in about a year from the monthly fee you used to pay for TVJapan.
Again, if you end up cancelling all your local TV channels and watch just the TVpad channels, you will pay off the TVpad in a few months.
